1. The Words of Remembrance should be written out in their entirety. If possible, a copy should be provided to the priest during the wake service at the funeral home. Sometimes even the best-intentioned speaker is overcome with emotion-this allows the priest or someone standing next to you to complete the reflection if the original speaker is not able to complete the words of remembrance.
1. The Words of Remembrance should be limited to around 3 minutes. The time allotted to the words of remembrance should not detract from the order of Mass; also, cemetery staff may be expecting the funeral party to arrive in a timely manner.
1. Only one person should deliver the words of remembrance. Another family member or friend may stand next to you for support and comfort if needed.
