Fr. Seán Charles Martin has been a priest of the Catholic Diocese of Dallas since 1981. A life-long educator, he has taught students in middle school and in high school, as well as undergraduates and graduate students in theology and ministry, both in the United States and in Rome. Educated at the University of Dallas and the University of Notre Dame, he holds the doctorate in Biblical Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, and is the author of
Pauli Testamentum: 2 Timothy and the Last Words of Moses (Rome: Editrice Pontifica Università Gregoriana, 1997). He has translated into English Enrique Nardoni's Spanish-language masterwork,
Los que buscan la justicia: un estudio de la justicia en el mundo bíblico (Estella: Verbo Divino, 1997) which was published as
Rise Up O Judge: A Study of Justice in the Biblical World (Peabody: Hendrickson Press, 2004). He has also written numerous shorter scholarly articles, both in English and in Spanish.
In addition to his scholarly endeavours, Fr. Seán enjoys reading, especially the novels and short stories of the Canadian author Douglas Coupland, Baroque music, especially the compositions of Johann Sebastian Bach, and cooking, especially when he is feeding family and friends.
